Crispy Halloumi Fries

Everything but the bagel Crispy Halloumi Fries make for a quick and easy appetizer!

Crispy Halloumi Fries coated in Everything But The Bagel seasoning are a deliciously addictive appetizer that perfectly blends savory, crunchy, and spicy flavors. The halloumi cheese is cut into thick sticks, then coated with the iconic seasoning blend featuring sesame seeds, garlic, onion, and poppy seeds, creating a flavorful crust that crisps up beautifully when fried or baked. Each bite offers a satisfying crunch followed by the cheese’s signature squeaky, chewy texture.

Paired with a hot honey sriracha dipping sauce, these fries take on an exciting balance of heat, sweetness, and tang. The spicy kick from the sriracha is mellowed by the rich honey, making every dip a mouthwatering experience. This combination elevates the crispy halloumi fries from a simple snack to a standout appetizer that’s perfect for sharing or enjoying solo.

I love cooking with halloumi and have tested it out in many recipes – be sure to check more out here!

Crispy Halloumi Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 block of halloumi cheese
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs + 1/3 cup everything but the bagel seasoning
  • Fry oil

Sriracha honey butter:

  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp hot or regular honey
  • 1 tbsp sriracha

Instructions

  • Slice halloumi into stick shapes. Prepare 3 shallow bowls, one with eggs, one with flour and one with a combination of the everything but the bagel seasoning and breadcrumbs. Whisk the eggs.
  • Coat each halloumi stick in flour, then whisked eggs, then breadcrumb mixture. Pour fry oil into a large deep skillet. You’ll want enough oil to mostly submerge your halloumi. When oil reached 325, add halloumi fries, about 3 at a time (depending how big your skillet is). Cook for about 2-3 min per side or until nicely golden brown. Transfer to a plate or cooling tray.
  • On low, melt butter in a small skillet. Add honey and sriracha and stir until smooth and combined. Serve with halloumi and enjoy!
