A savory twist on a classic grilled cheese with Capicola, Gruyere, and hot pepper cranberry jam

The Deets
I’m seriously stepping up my grilled cheese game with this creation: capicola, Gruyere, and hot pepper cranberry jam on a semolina loaf. The combination of the smoky capicola, creamy Gruyere, and the sweet heat from the cranberry jam makes for a flavor explosion in every bite. This jam has become my go-to fall condiment—I’ve been slathering it on everything from sandwiches to roasted veggies. It’s the perfect way to add a seasonal twist to any dish! For this sandwich, I chose to use a semolina loaf because of its slightly nutty flavor and perfect crispiness when grilled, but feel free to use your favorite bread. My favorite trick to get the bread nice and crispy is to put mayonnaise on both sides. You’ll have perfectly browned slices of bread. The gruyere takes this to the next level and is just oh-so-creamy and flavorful.
