Hot Honey Whipped Feta

This hot honey whipped feta is the perfect party appetizer.

Whipped Feta
The Deets

This recipe is a fun recreation of a dish I tried during a trip to Nashville: hot honey-whipped feta topped with savory sausage. It’s the perfect appetizer or snack to whip up during a busy week or to share with friends at a casual gathering. The combination of the creamy, tangy feta, a touch of heat from the honey, and the hearty sausage is absolutely delicious. It’s surprisingly easy to make too!

To start, you’ll blend the whipped feta by tossing the ingredients into a food processor—super simple and quick, but the result feels gourmet. Then, the addition of sausage on top takes the flavor to the next level, adding a rich and savory contrast to the creamy dip. I paired it with fresh, crisp bell peppers for dipping, but you can get creative here! Pita chips, crackers, sliced baguette, or even crunchy vegetables like cucumbers or carrots would all work beautifully.

This is one of those recipes that feels like it has a little something for everyone. Whether you’re serving it at a dinner party or just enjoying it on a cozy weeknight, it’s bound to be a hit. Let me know how you like it in the comments below, and feel free to share your favorite dipping vessels!

Ingredients

  • 7 oz fresh feta cheese
  • 3 tbsp greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/3 pound spicy ground sausage
  • 4 sprigs sage
  • 3 tbsp hot or regular honey
  • salt/pepper
  • olive oil
  • breadcrumbs
  • veggie of your choice

Instructions

  • Using a food processor, add your feta, yogurt, olive oil, 2 tbsp of honey a pinch of salt and pepper. Once combined, check for taste and consistency. Feta should be creamy and smooth. Add in a little more greek yogurt and olive oil if it needs a little more creaminess.
  • Saute your sausage in a pan on medium heat with a little olive oil. As sausage breaks down, add in your sage. Cook for about3-4 min or until nicely browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
  • Prep your veggies so they are bite sized and easy to dip. Layer on a plate.
  • Spoon your feta into a shallow bowl. Using a spoon, form a little crater in the top of the feta and add in your sausage. Top with remaining tbsp of hot honey and season with salt, pepper and breadcrumbs.Serve with veggies and enjoy!
