Traditionally from New Orleans, a muffuletta is a deli sandwich topped with fresh olive spread on sesame bread. This version takes that delicious olive spread and stacks it on a melty mozzarella Italian sandwich.

Why you’ll love this recipe:
The original muffuletta sandwich was created by Central Grocery in New Orleans. It has a pickly and delicious olive spread that only tastes better the longer all the flavors meld together. This version has olives, giardiniera, roasted red peppers, capers and fresh chopped parsley. Add some Italian meets (ideally from a good Italian deli), fresh mozzarella and stack on a fresh toasted baguette.
