*Note: When I am making a small batch of jam, I like to bake it in an 8oz cocotte. Alternatively, you could to it on the stovetop. To make a small batch of blackberry jam on the stovetop, add the blackberries, sugar, and lemon juice to a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring often and gently mashing the berries as they soften, until the mixture thickens to a jam-like consistency. Remove from the heat and let cool before using, keeping in mind the jam will continue to thicken as it cools.
