These Jam & Goat Cheese Puff Pastry Twists are one of my easiest (and most crowd-pleasing) appetizer ideas. With just 6 ingredients—store-bought puff pastry, tangy goat cheese, and a swipe of raspberry jam—they come together fast and bake up beautifully. The filling is sweet, creamy, and just a little tart, wrapped in golden, buttery layers that puff and flake in the oven.

Once they’re out and still warm, a dusting of lemon thyme sugar adds a fragrant, citrusy finish that takes them over the top. They’re the kind of bite-sized snack that feels a little fancy but couldn’t be simpler to make—perfect for brunch spreads, cocktail parties, or anytime you need a quick, tasty nibble.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 8 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp raspberry jam
  • A few sprigs of thyme
  • A squeeze of lemon + zest
  • Egg wash
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 and make goat cheese jam filling by adding goat cheese, jam, 1 tsp thyme and a squeeze of lemon to a bowl. Mix until combined.
  • Lay puff pastry on a clean surface. Spread goat cheese mixture all over the pastry in an even layer, leaving about an inch on the parameter. Make sure to not add too much filling so they are easy to twist.
  • Make 12 horizontal slices in the dough, about 1” in diameter. Fold the strips in half from top to bottom. Holding each end of the strip, twist in opposite directions until the slice is fully twisted.
  • Brush with egg wash and bake for about 16-18 minutes or until crispy and golden brown.
  • Make sugar by combine lemon zest, thyme leaves and sugar to a bowl. Using your fingers rub the zest into the sugar so everything is nicely combined. Sprinkle overtop the twists. Enjoy!
